Youth Thanksgiving Eve No-Tap Tournament Format:
Four Divisions, based on average: Open Scratch, 155-189 Handicap, 125-154 Handicap, 124 and Below Handicap.
Qualifying Round: Three (3) games no-tap scoring, moving one (1) pair of lanes right after each game.
Stair-Step Finals: One-in-Five highest qualifying series scores, with eight (8) maximum plus ties advance to finals in each division. If more than five (5) bowlers qualify for the finals in a division, early stair-step rounds may contain three (3) or more bowlers. AGAIN THIS YEAR!!: One “Lucky Loser” will be randomly chosen as an additional finalist – bowler chosen will start in the last position of his/her division stair-step.

Tournament Rules:
1. All USBC tournament rules apply except: Rules 319a-2, 319d and 319e are waived.
2. This tournament is open to all USBC bowlers holding current youth membership.
3. Entering averages:
A. Use bowler’s highest 2017-2018 book average. If average is from other than the Greater Houston or Montgomery County USBC yearbook, a copy of the book average signed by a coach, or printout from bowl.com, MUST be supplied with the entry.
B. If A. above not available, bowler will use the highest current league average (including 2018 summer leagues) as of November 12, 2018 with a minimum of 21 games. A copy of the league standing sheet or bowl.com printout MUST be supplied with the entry for verification.
C. If A. or B. above not available, or if average cannot be verified prior to the end of the first game of competition, the bowler must enter the scratch division.
4. In handicap divisions, handicap will be 100% of 200.
5. Scholarship fees will be returned 100%.
6. Winners will be awarded a certificate indicating the value of the scholarship won. All scholarship funds will be deposited to USBC SMART through account #12045.
7. Ties for advancement in stair-step finals rounds will be decided by 9th and 10th frame roll-off.
8. Dress code: Shorts, skirts, skorts are acceptable as long as fingertips extended at sides with arms relaxed don’t touch skin. Cut-offs and spandex apparel may not be worn. Shirts must have sleeves and be long enough to be tucked in – bare midriffs are not acceptable. No clothing may make references to alcohol or drugs, and no inappropriate sexual or racial references will be allowed. No hats, caps or other headgear may be worn during competition. Electronic equipment, including iPods, mp3 players, mobile phones, games, etc. may not be used in the bowler’s areas. All dress code decisions made by the tournament director are final.
9. All bowlers will be responsible for knowing whether they have qualified for the finals.
10. The tournament director will rule on anything not covered herein.
